It is an online training that is divided into 4 segments. The courses utilize video, photographs and Flash animations. Client Assistance System (CAS) various course modules The purpose of these online courses is to prepare Red Cross employee and volunteer workers to use the Client Assistance System (CAS). Modules are offered covering the conventions, elements of the system, creating a case, functions and reports. Users will develop an understanding of workflow, issuance of CAC cards, casework or Individual Assistance Provider (IAP) assignment. The courses will educate those involved in day-to-day Chapter incidents response as well as DR-specific duties. Disaster Assessment Basics is an instructor-led, basic level course. The course encompasses the tasks and responsibilities of the Disaster Assessment activity on a disaster relief operation. The course includes a section on local disaster incidents, which may be customized by the instructor for a local disaster program. The Disaster Assessment Basics course is not a replacement for the Fundamentals of Disaster Assessment (DSIMS200B) course; it is a complementary course developed for a different audience. This new course is designed for local community volunteers, primarily Disaster Action Team (DAT) members. The Fundamentals of Disaster Assessment course is the required course for all Disaster Assessment DSHR members, and is recommended for any volunteer who serves in a Disaster Assessment leadership role at the chapter even if that person does not deploy beyond the chapter. The purpose of this course is to provide a general overview of the tasks performed by Red Cross Disaster Assessment workers in support of a disaster relief operation and a local incident such as a single or multifamily fire.

DSSSS601A Disaster Frontline Supervisor (DFS) is an instructor-led, basic level course. The Disaster Frontline Supervisor Handbook provides disaster relief operations supervisors with tools that support their success. It is for use on both operations and in the classroom. Disaster Frontline Supervisor combined with Disaster Frontline Supervisor Simulation (DSSSS602A) replace Supervision on Disaster Assignment (DSSSSS600A) and Supervision in Disaster (ARC 3086). To meet the training requirements for a supervisor position in the Disaster Services Human Resources System both the course and simulation are required.

ARC 3074-3 Learners understand how to organize and execute a disaster fundraising campaign on an operation in this one-day, intermediate level course. Disaster Fundraising (DFR): Preparing and Responding in Chapters is a skills-based training course that provides the tools for chapter leadership, staff and volunteer fundraisers to prepare for and execute disaster fundraising campaigns in response to disasters within their jurisdiction, and during national disasters. The primary focus will be on the management of disaster fundraising at chapters for Level I – III operations. Disaster Fundraising: Preparing and Responding in Chapters replaces Principles and Methods as the introductory disaster fundraising course. ERVT 3068-4 The purpose of this basic level Disaster Services course is to prepare volunteers and employees of the Red Cross to safely and effectively use an Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) and its equipment to meet feeding and other service needs of people affected by disaster. Participants will be volunteers and employees of the Red Cross who work on Emergency Response Vehicles. This course consists of two parts. The first part contains approximately three hours of self-study. At the conclusion of the self-study, participants must attend the second part, which consists of the combination of an ERV orientation and a road test. Participants must complete both parts of the course. The total estimated time to complete the second part of the course is dependent upon the number of participants and the availability of equipment.

of Disaster Assessment FDA DSIMS200B The purpose of this course is to introduce the critical role of Disaster Assessment, explore related preparedness tasks, learn how to collect and communicate disaster assessment information, and become familiar with how disaster assessment information supports management and service delivery decisions. This course is a blended learning course consisting of two components, online (DSIMS200C) and instructor-led (DSIMS200A). Successful completion of both course components is required to receive a certificate of course completion. The online training component of the course (Part 1) resides on the Red Cross Learning Management System (LMS). It provides an overview of the Disaster Assessment activity and its related tasks.
The instructor-led component of the course (Part 2) will reinforce and build upon content presented in the online component while providing participants with the opportunity to apply their knowledge and develop skills in Disaster Assessment through applied learning activities.

Services Response Workshop HS1 DSCLS205W Health Services Response (DSCLS205W) is an instructor-led workshop designed to orient licensed or certified health professionals to the roles and responsibilities of a Health Services Service Associate when working on behalf of the American Red Cross to meet the disaster-related health needs of clients. This one-day learning experience consists of a series of short instructor presentations interwoven with class discussions and small group activities during which participants work as members of a Red Cross Health Services team to resolve complex problems. Humanity in the Midst of War: Introduction to International Humanitarian Law HIS 0365 IHL Humanity in the Midst of War: Introduction to International Humanitarian Law (IHL) is intended to raise awareness among Red Cross representatives and general audiences about the Geneva Conventions, the basic rules of international humanitarian law, and the role of the Red Cross during armed conflict to implement IHL. Through a hands-on approach utilizing group activities, class discussion and multiple audiovisual aids, this newly-updated course invites participants to reflect on their images and perceptions of armed conflict and explore the powerful and fundamental concept of human dignity even in the midst of the excesses of war.

MCD 3079-1 Mass Casualty Disasters is an instructor-led and video-supported course designed to prepare employees and volunteers to plan for and respond to mass casualty disasters. This course combines a series of presentations and class discussions which use real-world examples to explore the four types of mass casualty disasters and the planning and response role of the Red Cross as part of an overall community response. This interactive learning experience culminates in a thought-provoking simulation of a mass casualty event where participants form teams, representing a Red Cross chapter, and must make decisions during the first 24 hours following the disaster event.

Preparing
for and Managing A Spontaneous Volunteer Workforce SVW DSSSS201C This course is a basic level online disaster course consisting of four separate learning modules that provides participants with the knowledge and skills needed to prepare for and manage volunteers with no previous Red Cross affiliation who come forward to work with the Red Cross when a disaster threatens or occurs. Participants in this course will be members of the Chapter Coordinator of Disaster Volunteers (CDV) Team and/or Chapter Disaster Volunteer Managers/Directors/Chairpersons who will be the frontline in welcoming a spontaneous volunteer workforce when a disaster threatens or occurs. Participants can also be supervisory staff from all DSHR groups and other Red Cross individuals who are interested in learning more about spontaneous volunteer management, or whose duties may interrelate with spontaneous volunteers. They may also be DSHR members who are currently serving, or are interested in serving, in Staff Services. PFA DSCLS206A Psychological First Aid is intended for any potential disaster volunteers and members of local agencies interested in supporting the role of the Red Cross in the community's actions in preparing for, responding to and recovering from emergencies and disasters. This basic level Disaster Services course consists of five separate segments and a self-review questionnaire which is completed after the training has been completed. The course provides a framework for understanding the factors that affect stress responses in disaster relief workers and the clients they serve. In addition, it provides practical suggestions about what you can say and do as you practice the principles of Psychological First Aid.

Family Links Caseworker Training (International Services) IS-RFL-401A The Restoring Family Links course and training enables paid and volunteer chapter caseworkers to more effectively deliver international Restoring Family Links casework services to clients who have been separated from family members in other countries by armed conflict, disasters or complex humanitarian emergencies. The training explains how Restoring Family Links services are global in scope and a core activity of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Health: Working on Disaster Relief Operations WPA DSSSS206C Staff Health: Working on Disaster Relief Operations is an online course consisting of four separate learning modules that reside on the Red Cross Learning Management System (LMS). The course will familiarize participants with their duties as workers in the Staff Health activity. The purpose of this training module is to provide licensed Registered Nurses (RN) and Physicians with the knowledge, information and resources needed to understand the role of the Staff Health Activity on disaster relief operations. Participants must demonstrate mastery of the concepts presented in the course by correctly answering at least 80% of the questions on a final assessment in order to receive a certificate of completion.
